Activate! A Pre-General Assembly Event
Don’t just learn about justice — do justice!
This one-day event for high school youth, offered immediately prior to General Assembly, gives a unique experience of interactive social justice education.
UUCSJ looks forward to offering the second annual Activate! prior to General Assembly in 2015 in Portland, Oregon. Check back in spring for more information.
Our day will begin by exploring systems of oppression and social change through a variety of interactive activities. We will then put our justice values into action by discussing workers’ rights and the call to raise the minimum wage. The program will conclude by developing action plans to articulate and engage justice work during General Assembly and back at home. If you would like more information about the itinerary, email email@example.com.
If you’re passionate about justice, if you want to make a change in your hometown, if you want to see what the UU College of Social Justice is all about — we hope you will join us.
Youth who attended high school (grades 9–12) during the 2013–2014 school year are invited to register.
If you are interested in making a larger commitment to workers’ rights and the campaign to raise the minimum wage, UUSC will be offering fellowships. Simply fill out the UUSC Fellowship section on the application page.
